elliott leather doctor hunter valley areaPlease welcome yet another new Leather Doctor to our team – Elliott. Elliott will be helping Josh to operate The Leather Doctor Hunter Valley territory in New South Wales. We spoke to him about his reasons for joining The Leather Doctor and what he hopes to achieve as a contractor.

Here’s what he had to say…

What was it that attracted you to join The Leather Doctor business?

After a chat with a former colleague Josh, from Leather Doctor Hunter Valley, I was excited by the potential to assist him to grow his business and achieving goals of my own. The career change was appealing and something I was keen to commence.  Josh’s TIQ (Transparency, Integrity and Quality) approach to his work and franchise, genuinely aligned to my own work ethic and was of great appeal.

What did you do prior to becoming a Leather Doctor?

I have a strong warehouse and logistics background, familiar with many lounge products from both Harvey Norman and Amart ranges, having worked for both of these companies. I have worked at Head Office Amart in their Brisbane national dispatch centre as well as working for one of the best performing furniture stores for one of Australia’s largest retailers.

What territory will you manage?

I have the pleasure of being part of the beautiful Hunter Valley franchise where I get to travel to customers homes through amazing country scenery, including wineries! Everyday is different but beautiful.

What do you hope to achieve during your time as a Leather Doctor?

Leather Doctor has given me the opportunity to get out of the warehouse and in the community to assist customers. I’m enjoying travelling to new regions and suburbs I’ve not ventured to before, all while helping to build my skill set. It is rewarding to satisfy customer’s with furniture repairs and see the complete job.

I really like to reuse, recycle and repair. I value quality and therefore enjoy being able to restore new life to older furniture pieces or repair damaged pieces and make them like new again.

What advice would you give to someone looking to join the Leather Doctor business?

Don’t be afraid to try something new and challenge yourself! It may just be the best thing you ever do. I haven’t been in my role long, however can recognise this is a strong, growing business which I am excited to be part of and hope to contribute to the expansion success of the franchise.

Tell us something interesting about yourself?

I once worked in a factory where I held the record for peeling 1250 mussels an hour.
