Please welcome a long awaited owner to the Dubbo/Orange territory in New South Wales – Colin. We have been on the hunt for a technician to manage this area for quite some time now, and with Colin having experience under his belt operating another Leather Doctor area, he was the perfect fit!
We spoke to him about his reasons for making the move what he hopes to achieve in the area.

What was it that attracted you to join The Leather Doctor business?
I’ve owned franchises in the past so I have a very clear idea of what I consider to be a good business model, Leather Doctor ticks all the boxes
What did you do prior to becoming a Leather Doctor?
Truck driver, Video shop owner, Bakery owner, Restaurant Manager
What territory will you join?
NSW Central West, which takes in Orange, Dubbo, Bathurst and everywhere in between.
What do you hope to achieve during your time as a Leather Doctor?
Build up my territory then split it up, install contractors and semi retire to a consulting role.
What advice would you give to someone looking to join the Leather Doctor business?
Don’t expect to learn everything in the initial training. Fear of the unknown is perfectly natural, but you are surrounded by help and support that can get you through any situation.
Tell us something interesting about yourself?
I used to be morbidly obese and was once told I would probably not live past 50. I had gastric bypass surgery, lost 60kg and am now 54 and determined to land a backflip on my wakeboard.
Describe your ideal weekend?
Quality time with family and friends – location unimportant!
