Meet our Franchisees – Charles and Ashley Ginty

This week, we’re excited to introduce Charles and Ashley Ginty who are the owners and operators of The Leather Doctor Port Macquarie.

To find out why they took up a Leather Doctor franchise and what they love about their job, we asked them a few questions:

What was it that attracted you to join the business?
The freedom to be our own boss and belief in the product!
What do you most love about being A Leather Doctor?
The variety of jobs we come across each day, and meeting lots of puppy dogs 🙂
How have you gone about promoting and growing your business?
Facebook has been our main source of advertising, but we’ve also developed connections with other businesses, especially in regions where The Leather Doctor wasn’t well-known which has helped us become more established.
What did a typical day as a Leather Doctor look like?
Our area is quite large, so there is a lot of driving involved. We do a lot of major repairs and restorations, so those jobs are done in the shed at home. The jobs we do range from cleaning a leather lounge suite, to repairing the mechanism on a recliner, to replacing springs and foams inside a seat… No day looks the same!
What have you been able to achieve via your time as a Leather Doctor?

We have owned the business for just over a year and have worked hard to establish The Leather Doctor as a well-known business in our local area. We have both learned a lot about how to operate a successful business, and we hope to continue building upon our skills so our business continues to grow.

What advice would you give to someone looking to purchase a Leather Doctor franchise?
Being a Leather Doctor is like being a part of a family – the training that is continuously provided and the communication between head office and other Leather Doctors is incredibly supportive.
Tell us one interesting fact about yourself?
We live on a rural property close to Port Macquarie with our 3 dogs and 2 goats.
Describe your ideal weekend?
Discovering new camping spots with a creek or river nearby, and beers around the campfire.
