Today, we’re talking to Arthur Mollentze – the owner and operator of The Leather Doctor Scarborough and Perth CBD territory in Western Australia. We sat down and had a chat to him about why he joined the team and what he loves about running his own business. Here’s what he had to say:
What was it that attracted you to join the Leather Doctor business?
It looked very interesting and challenging.
What did you do prior to becoming a Leather Doctor?
I was the owner of car dealership / panel beating shop / vehicle repair workshop.
What territory do you operate?
I operate The Leather Doctor Scarborough and Perth CBD territory, which keeps me very busy!
What have you been able to achieve via your time as A Leather Doctor?
I’ve been able to improve on my two tone skills and colour matching skills, so I can do a really great job at recolouring customer’s lounges.
What advice would you give to someone looking to purchase a franchise/operate a franchise?
Don’t be scared. You will be well looked after and if you work hard the reward will be there!
What’s the most interesting job you’ve worked on to date?
A complete re-do of an Aniline (3 seater) leather sofa that was in very bad condition.
What do you love most about being a Leather Doctor?
The clients satisfaction – when the impossible repair to the client comes out perfectly, it leaves them very happy!!

I used to race superbikes on the racetrack!
